Ticehurst
This is a unique location, on the edge of a 46-acre patch of ancient woodland. When we stayed the bluebells were out and it was beautiful. To be clear, though, the site that the lodges look out onto isn't the woodland but a giant carpark. The nearby restaurant, the Birchwood, is a lovely location for breakfast (if a little pricey). The lodges are also near to some wonderful locations in this part of East Sussex/Kent (Sissinghurst, Cranbrook, Bedgbury Forest etc.) The greeting when we arrived was friendly.
Ticehurst
We loved the spacious accommodation, and wonderful hospitality from Ann & Ian. Especially welcome, was the pack of basics like a freshly baked loaf/cupcakes, bacon, eggs, little jug of milk & butter, all just enough to get us through the first night/breakfast. Special thanks to Ian for driving my husband's car to a petrol station to get a top up during the 2021 fuel crisis, which meant we could relax. Can really recommend the apartment for anyone touring the East Sussex/Kent area.
A delightful small hotel, in a quiet location, run by a lovely couple. The room was superb and so were the individually cooked breakfasts. The hotel is a converted from a large old house, full of features and each room is different. Nothing like an identikit chain hotel, it reminded me of an historic American Guest House. A great location for accessing the beautiful and varied scenery of East Sussex.
Hotel was fine, however Booking.com app says it is 2.8 miles from where I was playing golf, and it turned out to be 19 miles! Cost me over £70 in taxis to and from East Sussex National Golf Club. Complained to Booking.com and got told I should have checked a map! Not happy
East Sussex National Hotel was very nice. The room was big, the breakfast was good and there was a good spa and gym. The staff were very nice.
Very classic old school English hotel. Great location for exploring East Sussex. Comfortable and lovely decor in the restaurant.
The hotel is really nice, it had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept it. It was a bit far from central Brighton but there were busses very 7 minutes so that was fine. As it’s not in the centre it meant it was really quiet. The parking was free and really close to the hotel.
Wonderful historic hotel. Fantastic picturesque location. Friendly and conscientious staff.
everything was perfect, thanks everyone for the nice memories!!
It was beautifully preserved as a bygone era of style and comfort. The rooms are large, tasteful and very comfortable. The bar and dining areas are all fitting to the the past era of gracious and stylish living.
Andrea was the best! He helped us so much
we were very impressed with the whole ambiance
Amazing room with great view, really nice breakfast, excellent facilities (spa, bar, restaurant).
Staff very friendly. Kumdeep(?) B. Excellent!! Food delicious. Location fantastic.
staff was great ,rooms were fantastic , very fresh and clean with sea views to die for
The food was excellent, especially the (inclusive!) breakfast - easily the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The location is excellent right by the sea for walking/swimming and long/easy cycle routes, and next to the train station with regular trains to explore the East Susssex coast. Long secluded beaches, sandy at low-tide.
This stay was an absolute pleasure everything was excellent
On arrival my room was upgraded and it was beautiful. The location is fabulous right beside the beach and it’s a lovely walk into Rye. Lovely bar and restaurant at the hotel
Beautiful facility, very clean and inviting
