The Edwardian Manchester, A Radisson Collection Hotel, hotel in Manchester

Winner of the Leading Hotel of the Year 2019 award, Edwardian Manchester, A Radisson Collection Hotel is located in the city's Free Trade Hall, next to the Central Convention Centre.

The staff at the Edwardian are excellent and really look after you. There was a queue for check in (about 10 minutes) and when we got to the desk we had to wait 10/15 minutes for our room as it wasn't quite ready (We really didn't mind!) The receptionist couldn't have been kinder and made sure we were ok throughout and had upgraded us with free breakfast and room due to our wait. You could tell it had been a busy day but they still showed kindness and professionalism. We were well looked after and they couldn't have done more for us. We would 100% recommend a stay at the Edwardian, this was our 2nd time staying and we loved it just as much if not more than the first time! Thank you very much for looking after us so well. The rooms are always spotless and have all the amenities needed, the hotel is stunning and the bar area is lovely with great drinks!

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Parts of Manchester are fabulous and the buildings are absolutely industrial chic photographers dream. Some areas outside the main drag are very rundown. For example the area around the Man City Football Stadium and the new Co op arena (Beswick) is very deprived. One one side is a lovely walk back to the city centre and on the other is a rundown depressing housing estate. The juxtaposition is striking and obscene

    The old buildings were stunning.

The old buildings were stunning. The people were very friendly. We felt very safe walking around. We were there for the AJ Bell Great Manchester race. 18 of us travelled from Ireland and we had a great weekend and would highly recommend this race to all runners. Some of us did the half marathon and others did the 10k. So well organised and fantastic support from the public and volunteers. We also visited the Coronation Street set. We'll worth a visit. We were in walking distance to most things and got a taxi to the Coronation street tour.

Manchester is a great city full of life, interesting night life but also full of peaceful and quiet places. Together with the canals running throughout the city center anyone can find a perfect spot to hang out and have fun. Not to mention the city´s great industrial and music history which it still lives up to. Locals are usually friendly and welcoming. It really is a one of a kind place, worth visiting at least once in a life time. Classic british pubs or modern craft beer pubs, fancy coffee shops, but also a lot of affordable options to eat. Traffic can be relatively difficult but public transport options are fast and reasonable.

Manchester is a very vibrant attractive city with lots of arts and culture and the tram system is superb, especially for a wheelchair. People are full of northern charm and humour. Ppl hold doors open and help with the wheelchair as opposed to the attitude down south that you are inconveniencing them! Always look forward to going back.
